Getting back to normal....

I always think I am just dreading Christmas and the Holidays coming to an end. I go into mourning that week between Christmas and New Years. I think it is more that overwhelming feeling of getting all that Christmas put away that weighs on me. Cause as soon as I just dig in, and get going on putting our lives back to normal. Man, it feels so good. Spent 4 days straight in my home. Barely coming out to take the kids back and forth to school and a quick grocery run. But I did some serious work in those 4 days. Whipped that household into shape. And man alive I love that feeling. All Christmas decor put away and Valentines brought out. Deep cleaning all my main rooms. All toys, ALL reorganized and a huge pile to donate. Cleaned out and donated half the crap in my basement as well. Old baby items and kitchen things that weren't being used. 4 long ol' days but the ending was so satisfactory.

I thought I would spare you the boredom of boring cleaning pictures, instead I threw in a little odds and ends of what else we've been up to...

First Sunday of the new year. Dressed the boys up in the Christmas clothes I bought them for Christmas Sunday. Ya know, the ones they never got to wear cause most of em were sick. We switched to 11:00 church this year. Pretty splendid. Sleeping in. Pancakes. Love having time for pancakes again.

And my new Christmas dress. Of course I coordinated us. Cause I like that kinda thing. Kinda love this skirt. Very versatile. Works year round.

Think I have mentioned that my mom is a big time skiier, and has been teaching our kids. Up until this point it was just Carson and Brevin that have learned. This is Carson's third winter going up with my mom. The little lady bought them all season passes to Snowbasin. This year she is teaching Elle and Lincoln. Elle is like her mama, fearless. She had it down after the first two runs. My Lincoln...don't let his firey personality fool you. Kid is as chicken as they come. Barely moved down that mountain. Going so slow he was almost at a stop. Still can't catch on to stopping. He was scared to death, but he was brave and tried his hardest. That was only his first try, so he will get it.

Date night last weekend with friends. We went out to sushi...not my favorite. Like at all. Especially when that is all the meal consisted of. But the company is my most favorite. Thiago's friends from school and their cute wives. Friends, if you are still reading this....love you all so much and seriously love our get togethers.

First for us this year has been Junior Jazz. He was a little hesitant, said he didn't know how to play. But like everything in life this boy gives it his all. Nothing ever holds him back. He's certainly not a natural athlete, but he plays with his whole heart and a smile plastered to his face the entire time. Seriously so proud of him. When I grow up I want to be just like him....he teaches me every single day.

2 days off from school for MLK junior day and teacher prep. Mentioned on Instagram that if I thought I was smart enough and felt like I could juggle it all, I would totally homeschool my kids. My heart just thrives when they are home with me. And in this world these days there is so much out there I wish I could shelter them from. Obviously I am not brave enough to ever actually attempt this, but when they have days off and are home with me. Well this mama is happy. Don't get me wrong, bedtime always rolls around a little earlier on those days (worn out their welcome). But for the most part I so enjoy having them near me.

I think they like to be with each other too...I know those little brothers miss their big brother.

Just a little family lunch at Costa Vida.

Whats a day off school, if you can't have a cousin sleepover. I'm pretty weird about sleepovers. My kids will never have them unless it is with their cousins. Just not into them. My mom never let me and I am the same. But cousins, you betcha!! Thats a whole other story....Brevy boy stayed the night with us on Monday.

Of course you do big breakfasts on no school days. At least in our house we do. Waffles and scrambled eggs.

Ash had some clients that morning, so we watched baby Boston for a bit.

As you can see Carson was my helper.

Jammie, movie, popcorn day for these three. While I cleaned with my windows open. Weird January...where the heck is our snow?

New little piece of furniture in my front room. We rearranged this room to make room for my christmas tree this year. Decided I liked the furniture better and wanted to leave it that way, but it left a big whole where the tree used to be. Of course that called for a new end table.

Which I thought turned out darling! My eye goes right to it everytime I walk in the room. And it makes me very happy.

In other news, Linc made this little picture for me. He said and I quote "cause your byoutiful (beautiful), and I love you and its your Valentine". So boom. Take that suckers, what are your kiddos saying to you?? Love that kid.

And that brings us current...still working on a post for my last 2 months worth of fun Instagram pics. At least I think they are fun!

But up next...is a birthday...

for a three year old. I hate it. But it trues.

My baby bug is three years old today. And my mama heart is a little broken.

Parties coming up!
