July Wrapup

I'm sad...wait so long for summer to get here and already it is August. How did that happen? We have been busy little bees (as Carson would say) but the good kind of busy. The fun kind of busy...it seems like our August has a little bit more of necessary but boring events...you know doctor, dentist appointments, temple recommend renewals, a couple of back to school events that kind of thing. However, we will try and make the most of this next month, cause before we know it we will be saying hello to September.

Just a couple of random pictures..not exciting enough for their own post...but they are definitely keepers and worth sharing.

Little Miss Katelynn's baby blessing...oohhh, I love those cheeks and those trademark Smith family blue eyes.

Weber State fireworks with my two little piggies. Stood up from that chair and I was seriously covered in Pringles crumbs. How fun.

Yep, we bought ANOTHER sword. Honestly, it is just not worth listening to him go on and on and on and on. Get the idea.

Lots of outside playing. Got myself a little helper, to bad all that little helper likes to do is whack my pots with that watering can just as hard as he can. Pure boy.

This little monkey is way to busy with his bike, scooter, car, 4-wheeler...no time for watering flowers.

This one just makes me laugh. After the boys bath one night, I made a batch of brownies. They seriously stood at this oven for like 20 minutes watching them bake. A little excited....yeah, I think so.

In between all of this playing...we have been doing a little work. I have been trying to finish up my spring/summer cleaning. I brought up the kids kitchen from the playroom downstairs and this is how I found them for the next couple of hours. Love when they play together, warms my heart.

More fireworks with family...oh yeah, and a box of Cheez-its!

Was downstairs doing some laundry the other day and realized Lincoln was being a little to quiet upstairs. Went up to see he had climbed all the way up on our table (where our candy dish is) and helped himself to not just one but two suckers. Pure victory...didn't have the heart to take them away.

And last but not least...Ash's birthday dinner at Tepanyaki. Yum!!

Thats us for another month....happy August all!

aShLeY !!!

Happy 26th birthday tomorrow to my little sister. Who just also happens to be my bestest friend, my confidant, my cheerleader, my counselor, my shopping buddy, my telephone companion, my hairstylist (and clothes and house and accesories), my neighbor, my example, my inspiration....and the list could go on and on. Everyone in their life needs an Ashley, she is absolute perfection. I swear she is an angel from heaven sent down here amongst all of us crazies. I love you so much Pistach.....happiest of days to you. Thanks for all that you are to me. I couldn't survive without you. Love you muches!!

Pioneer Day

Love the 24th of July...almost as much as the 4th. Lucky Utah, two great holidays in one month. We had the hardest time deciding what to do with ourselves though. We talked about going to Lagoon, but it sounded so hot and crowded we decided against it. We finally thought it would be fun to head up to Logan with Jen and go to Willow Park's little festivities. Started out at the parade. My kind of parade, didn't start till 12:00 so I didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to be there in time. We sat in complete shade and the kids behaved perfectly. It was very enjoyable as far as parades go.

Theo was a very good sport throughout the day, this is not his most favorite thing to do. However, funny how your idea of fun changes once kids come along.

Cars takes his parades seriously...this kid loaded up on the candy. Of course, his favorite was "the beautiful girls"...all decked out in their royalty on the sparkly floats. Figures.

Lincoln of course kept wishing he was part of the parade. I feel bad trapping him in his stroller, but he kept wandering out their amongst the horses, and cars, and floats...dang kid.

Loading up on that candy....the funny thing is Carson hates candy and didn't eat a single piece of it.

Headed over to the park for some lunch.

Then to the outrageously expensive bounce houses...they got like 3 turns each and that was it.

They did however have some free activities going on that we made sure to participate in.

Slap bracelets....

face painting...for some reason Carson really wanted this boat.

and of course a treat on the way out.

We went to Jen's house for a BBQ and fireworks. Carson and Lance spent a good chunk of their evening playing in this box.

Yeah, we started our fireworks before it was even dark outside. Don't judge us, we have 7 kids under the age of 5 and a long drive home. Kids still loved it.

Don't look to closely at Lincoln's face....he was covered in dirt. So gross, he has never needed a bath so badly in his life.

He loved every second of it though (if you can't tell by that big ol' smile.)

Example of a true friend. Carson LOVES fireworks, however Lance does not. He is terrified. So what does sweet Carson do, watches them from the upstairs window with his BFF. Adorable.

It was such a fun day, things can get so chaotic with all those little kids but we wouldn't have it any other way. I feel so blessed to have the family that I do, we just have the best time together. They make every holiday and special occasion so enjoyable and I loved every second of it. Thanks Jen for inviting us!!

We have a guess..

So I went to my doctor appointment yesterday and they definitely have a "guess" as to what the baby is. I am not going to say yet cause it was still a little to early to be certain, so now I get to wait 4 whole weeks with this thought bouncing around in my little head. Like I have said, it doesn't matter to me. The baby was looking healthy and growing right on schedule which is all I ask for. However, my question for all of you is this...

will we have more of this coming our way....balls, trains, trucks, puppy dogs

or are we going to switch things up a bit with a little pink, butterflies, princesses, flowers.

The suspense is killing me.

If you are one of the lucky few that have already been told what this "guess" is, don't give it away. As for the rest of you, leave me a comment and tell me what you think. I am curious....3 boys, or am I going to get a little bit more of female around here.

Don't be shy...comment away!!!

A Splash of Fun!

What a fun day we had today. My sisters and mom came over for a little "swim party" as Carson has been calling it. And by swim party he means a slow moving slip n slide and a little wading pool But hey, to 6 kids under the age of 5 that is pretty much all you need to have a fantastic day. Started out a little rocky, when we couldn't get the pool to hold any water, it kept sloping all over the place. Carson was trying to laugh it off and have a good time, but alas he is his mothers child and we get really worked up when things aren't going as planned. We finally moved the pool onto a more level spot and everything was good.

Little lunch break...Cafe Rio for us (which I could eat again, right now...this baby is constantly making me hungry)

Mcdonalds for them...

On your mark,

Get set,

Go....oh, I love this kid. He must have done this a hundred times, all the other kids were too chicken. Not Cars.

Slip'n'slide

Yep, he's drinking the water...don't worry its house water. Gross, but at least not sickly.

Both of them smiling and having a good time.

Uh-oh, Lincoln got her a little wet....not so happy anymore.

I think Lincoln looks hilarious when he is all wet....just like a drowned rat.

My skinny kids....poor Lincoln couldn't keep his shorts up. By the end of the day he was running around in just a diaper.

Happy, fun, summer day friends...thanks for coming.

As I was putting Carson to bed tonight, he gave me the biggest hug and said "mom, that was the best swim party ever....thats why I am grateful."

Makes it all worth it.
