Sunday we headed out to Weber State fireworks with the Cano's and friends. We go every year. A whole lot of waiting around, tons of people, crazy time getting out of the parking lot, all for a 5 minute show. Thats okay though, we still love it and wouldn't want to miss it.
We packed our cooler with some treats and drinks. I swear this is Carson's favorite part about summer activities. Loves packin that cooler.
That night didn't go as smoothly as planned. Lincoln was a nightmare all day long. Don't let those smiles fool ya, he was soooo ornery. Fuss, fuss, and more fuss....the entire time. Carson and I headed out in search of a snowie. Finally find it, all the way down by Smiths. It was quite the walk for a snowie, but it made my boy happy. Especially considering we found the guy selling the glowing swords. $5.00 later, with snowie in hand (which lasted about 2 minutes, he insisted on carrying it, dropped it...smack on the sidewalk) we are headed back to our seats and on comes a little downpoor. Crazy wind, blowing all this crap in my hair. I am still picking the little leave things out of my washer and out of Lincoln's stroller. Lots of rain, luckily it blew over and the rest of the night was fine. Both kids fell asleep on the way home, which meant no baths. I have the hardest time sleeping at night if my kids don't get baths. I am a little obsessive I know. Oh well, still a fun night and glad we went. Carson loved it and after all that is what matters.

Yeah that does sound like a somewhat annoying night. I don't have a problem with no baths, but the rain would have driven me crazy. I agree with Cars getting all the snacks and drinks ready to go is usually my favorite part too. I am getting all of our food ready today for tomorrow so you can be I will be having a good day!!
Oh we went to that 2 years ago and it's a fun show - I am not sure but I think there is music that it is all put to and you can tune in on the radio or something.. crazy about the weather, too! I can totally relate to a grumpy camper in the family, but it makes me pretty totally psycho when I have to deal with it.
I think it's funny that you feel obsessive over your kids baths. We bathed our first kid every day and she had eczema really bad - we were told to not bathe her every single day and her skin issues cleared up! Same thing (almost) with Meg. They have much healthier skin now that I dont bathe them every night. That broke me of that nightly ritual, but I know some kids really rely on that to relax enough to sleep. (just didn't know it relaxed some of the parents enough to sleep! hee hee!)
sounds like a fun night minus the rain. Love all the pictures! I am sad, we had to miss the fireworks this year at Weber State!
Such a fun tradition...the boys look so happy and that is what it's all about, right?
You are such a good Mom. We thought about going, but changed our mind because Hunter was really grumpy too. I heard the fireworks only lasted a few mintues.. that stinks.
That is a fun tradition you have with the Cano's they are so good to you.
