We're off to a good start so far, I realize we still have a whole lot of summer left, and that makes this sun loving girl very happy.....but still, I feel as if time is moving oh so quickly. Honestly, I kinda hate that. I love the point we are at right now, I love the ages of my kids, I love their innocence and carefree spirits. I love the way they still need me so very much, and not only need...want. I am getting way off track here, that is not the purpose of this post. Its summertime, and the livin' is easy. Here is a few of our happenings.
I think I mentioned the fact that I agreed to be the team manager for Thiago's soccer team. And for all those wondering, he coaches youth soccer. This is not a team he plays on himself. He has been doing it for awhile, and he gets paid. We are finally at the point that we don't really need the extra income, but I'm not complaining. He truly loves it, and as my boys get older and get more involved in their own extra-curricular activites that little bit of extra money will certainly be nice. So he keeps at it.
We had the parents meeting at our house the other night. Just kinda an introduction and explanation for all the new parents and players. I decided to be cute and make a few treats. So domestic, don't ya think. Ha, yeah right. Although, I know my husband appreciated the effort and sometimes I kinda like baking for crowds. I still get a taste of the yumminess but don't feel guilty for eating it all myself.
Yum, now I am hungry. Moving on.
Lots and lots of yard work. Honestly though, we are total weirdos and really kinda enjoy it. Maybe ask me again at the end of the summer and we will see if I am still saying that. For now, I still love it.
I like June cause everything still looks so green and colorful. Near the end of summer, everything starts to look slightly dry and just kinda sad. My lavender bushes are obviously in full bloom, those babies are getting HUGE!! May need to trim those suckers down. They sure do smell nice though.
Thiago restained our patio stairs. Nice little facelift for them, they needed it.
As far as my boys go, they are just busy living it up. Every day pretty much looks like this. They hop on their bikes and head on down to Brevin's house to play or they pick up Brev and the three of them head back to our house. Oh, to be a kid again. Lazy, summer days.
Cutest little cousins, they are lucky to have each other.
They usually have about an hour or so after dinner, before they need to get in the bathtub. They usually spend this playing outside on their bikes or jumping or whatever. Lately though they bring out little games or activities and sit on our patio table and play. Its really sweet. I secretly spy on them as I am cleaning up dinner. I keep the door open and listen to their little conversations. Sweetest brothers.
You know how I am always talking about memories and traditions. Mac and cheese and Koolaid just absolutely scream summer to me. My cute mama, we had Koolaid in our fridge during the summertime ALWAYS. Always, we drank a glass at every lunch. Orange juice in the morning, milk for dinner, water the rest of the day, and Koolaid for lunch. She also always made us all three meals. She switched things up alot, we were always trying out new things, but one of our favorite lunch staples was mac and cheese. I love to do this for my boys cause it takes me back to my childhood and helps me remember what it felt like to grow up. Love those memories.
We have also been grilling like crazy. We grill at least once, if not twice a week. What is it about grilled food, just tastes so good. And summer salads, love summer salads.
And of course popsicles for dessert.
When we are really lucky, we gather our supplies for the ultimate dessert...
we start the fire,
and we really have some fun for ourselves. Carson takes his with half a marshmallow and double chocolate. He is a chocolate lover. Drake stays confined to his highchair snacking on the grahams, while Lincoln/the pyro throws everything within arms reach into the flames. Little stink. What am I gonna do with that kid.
Summer...enjoy!

Summer time really is the best time of year! There is so many fun things to do, those smores look so yummy!!! Looks like your boys have started off to a good summer. I love that they can just ride over to Brev's house and pick him up, too cute!
Ooh such a happy post, for such a happy time of year.
You are about to get really domestic with your cake. Good luck with that tonight let me know how it goes. Or should we say good luck to Ash with that!
