Carson got to give his first little talk in Primary today. It felt weird. I remember doing this when I was little, sometimes I can't believe that I am the mom standing behind him whispering in his ear what to say. How did this happen, when did I get this old?? I felt very mommish today, if that makes sense. You know how certain events or things you do for your kids just make you really feel like a mom. This was one of those moments.
Anyways...he was pretty stinkin cute up there if I do say so myself. He was one excited little boy, couldn't wait to get up there with his pictures and talk in that microphone. His little voice sounded so dang cute. I was proud. Crazy how this kid does that to me. I know I have said it before, but he really is one heck of a good kid. I don't know how I got so lucky, he is honestly one in a million. Many thanks to his dad, cause that side of him sure didn't come from me. Just looking at him, makes my heart beat a little bit faster. I sure do love him.
Let me explain this picture...just a little side note that I need to write down so I never forget that moment. We got home from church in our usual chaotic state. Carson perfect angel through the three hour block, Lincoln not so much. Anyways, I was running around the house trying to clean up the tornado I had left this morning. All the sudden Thiago called me into the family room. Carson had all his little pictures spread out on the floor, except for this one. He just sat there, holding it in his little hands and staring. Me and Thiago just watched him, trying to figure out the best way to handle this moment. Carson noticed us there, and turned and said in a quiet little voice...."what did they do to Jesus".
I was speechless. I know he has seen pictures, and heard refrence to it all but he has never really stopped and pondered it. My heart started beating just a little bit faster, I looked at Thiago and we both kinda had tears in our eyes trying to figure out how to explain it in simple yet honest terms to our four year old. We told him in the best way we could. He sat there and listened just as quiet and reverent like as can be, and then repeated "why would they do that to my Jesus". My Jesus. Oh, man I cry typing it. Four years old, and he understands the importance of his Jesus. His quiet, revrent attitude towards it all showed me that he not only understood but it made him sad. Children, their little spirits never cease to amaze me. How close to the veil they really are, we all could learn so much through them. I sat through three hours of church today, it was ward confrence so the meetings and the messages were excellent. However, the lesson I will remember the most from this day was taught to me by my own child. My little boy understood that Jesus Christ...is his very own Jesus. There for him every day of his life, he knows this. He has never met him, he has only seen pictures and heard stories. Doesn't matter, his heart told him that this man is special, he deserves our respect and our obedience. And that he is there for each of us if we just turn to him. Thanks my sweet boy, never lose that. Always keep that little testimony strong and remember who you are and where you come from.

That is a great post Teri. Carson is so smart and such a sweet boy. I love that he said My Jesus. He is so right.
Hunter gave the scripture in church today. I was so proud. I love all of these little firsts.
Ok Teri, I'm crying! What a sweet, sweet boy. And what good parents he has for installing a love and testimony at such a young age. It all starts in the home and look at his light shining through at such a young age. What a precious moment for you to remeber for years to come!
Oh Ter this is just so special and priceless, what a moment I am crying just reading it so I can imagine witnessing it as his mother. What a special boy you are Carsy I am so proud of you and love you so much. I am going to go hold Lance and Luke a little closer tonight, thanks for reminding me the special spirit children carry with them. Such a touching post Ter, this brings my heart great joy.
That is so sweet!! He is such a sweet little boy and I am sure such a proud moment for you. I love that age I taught the sunbeams for 3 years and it was so fun to see each of them give their first talk.
That is just so precious...I love that boy and so happy he was excited to give his little talk. It sure looks like it was a good one with visual aids and all. So proud of him!!!
So cute, I love it! I had tears!
Wow. That is so sweet. I just love little kids. It makes it all the more obvious why Christ thought they were so special too. Nice job on preparing the talk too, visual aids and everything.
Way to go Carson, it really is the best seeing your little boy give his first primary talk...nerve wracking too! Seriously how sweet is he, they have such a simple view of everything, which makes it all that much better! I really think we have kids to remind us how simple life should be!
