I looove the fourth of July!! It is probably my favorite holiday, well after Christmas. I love the colors, the parades, the BBQ's, the weather, the fireworks, pretty much everything about it. We always do the same thing each year, although this year there were a few changes.
Me and Thiago were to lazy to wake up and go to breakfast and the parade with the rest of my family. I know kind of pathetic, I would have done it, but Thiago said no way. Sooo, we just met up with everyone after at about 9:30 or so. We go to Willard's town celebration. I have gone since I was tiny, well actually my mom has gone since she was tiny. Willard is where her dad lives. I like it because, their is just enough people to make it feel like a celebration, but not so many people that it makes you crazy. Here is Carson in his cute little fourth of July outfit, I am a firm believer in dressing for the holidays.
Alright, this picture is the best and worst part about the day. They have races each year, for each age and gender. Starting with crawlers. I used to HATE this, when I was little. My mom made me do it, if I wanted money to spend for the rest of the day. Child abuse!!! I hate this kind of thing, I am so not coordinated. Their is not an athletic bone in my body. I considered myself lucky to just come in dead last, which I always did. Although to top that, most years I fell flat on my face. This is so horrifying for someone like me.
I always swore I would not make Carson do this. However this year, he actually kind of wanted to. He walked right up to that starting line and was ready to go. One problem, he took off to early. He was half way across the field by the time they blew the whistle to go. We tried to not make a big deal of it, we just cheered for him and told him he won anyway. I didn't want to give him a complex for years to come. So according to us, he won!!
This was his favorite, the airplanes. Surprise, surprise. They had all kinds of booths and games for the kids to do. But we spent all of our tickets on the airplanes. Only thing was, this was the only ride except for a water slide. So the line was pretty long each time, oh well. You tough it out for your kids.
This was my shock of the day. For all of you that know Thiago well. He is not a sweets kind of guy. He never, and I mean ever eats candy or dessert type things. He prefers real food. Hallie got a thing of cotton candy, and next thing I know Thiago is eating it. I was like what the heck are you doing, of all things to eat cotton candy. He said it is one thing he has liked ever since he was little. How did I not know this about him.

Anyways, so after the Willard celebration we went back to my moms house to rest and have a barbeque. This is where my day is different then years passed. Usually we go to someones house and let the kids swim and have a BBQ with our whole family. Not really sure why this didn't happen this year. So, my mom, Thiago and me and Carson just did our own thing. Kind of quiet being just the 4 of us. Ash and Souli went to stadium of fire and of course Jen wasn't here. I kind of missed everyone, but oh well what do you do. We had a good time anyway. That night we met up with Thiago's family and friends for the Layton city fireworks. Most people complain about the craziness of parking and all the people, but I have always been a crowd person. And the Brazilians are so much fun, that we love to go.

Here is Carson throwing popits on the sidewalk. We kept having to remind him not to throw them at people. Although Thiago is a wonderful example, and he is the one that usually starts that. He thinks it is so funny to find a group of young girls, and throw like ten of them at their feet. What a brat.

I didn't take any pics of us watching the fireworks but you get the idea. Carson loves it, my nephews all kind of get scared from the loud noise and everything but not Carson. He has liked it ever since he was a baby. Well, hope you all had a great fourth of July, we sure did!

I've missed commenting on all your cute blogs. Even if those sisters won't get with it, I'm back. The
4th is my second best holiday too. I loved the boy's race, it was precious and probably was my fault for the false start. Thanks for the fun day.
I too am a firm believer in dressing for the holidays! Looks like a great day and my hubby loves cotton candy!
I also love the fourth. I wish I could have been two places at once. I missed you guys too especailly my Carson. He is a joy on holidays he gets into things as much as you do.
I am shocked Thiago ate that cotton candy, of all treats, yuck! Cars that is hillarious he took off too early, though I love that he actually ran. I can picture trying to talk Lance into that, yeah right. You guys all look way cute in your 4th clothes, and don't worry next year we will all be together. In fact we will all be together in 15 days.
I love the picture of Carson, that is a great smile. It was kind of different not being together, it was everyone else fault for planning something else, Oh well next year we will get together.
Stacey says she can't leave comments on your blog, not sure why? I just wanted to see if I could. Have you noticed cutest blog on the block is being weird lately half the time my background doesn't show up. It's just white, yours is green though I think you maybe just can't see the comment button when it does this on yours because of the green background. Switch yours to white like mine. I hope this makes sense, I will call you in the morning.
Okay sorry me again, yeah switch your page background color to white instead of green. Your green writing doesn't show up against the green backgound when the layout is being weird. I know this will bug you so I really hope I am making sense you are not answering your phone and I am going to bed. GOOD LUCK!
Teri I figured it out! Jenny is right I can't see the comment word, but I just clicked with the mouse where it was sposed to be, and it showed up! Anyways I love all your 4th of July pictures! I am with you on the breakfast thing! Although we went it made for a very long day! You look so darn cute I can't get over it!
