Carson's first soccer season just ended last week. I have to say it will be nice not have to sit out there in the freezing cold every Tuesday and Thursday, not getting to watch an ounce of the game but chasing Lincoln around the playground instead. We seriously did not have one soccer game in nice weather, seems the cold always fell on those days.
Thiago and Carson took the kids a treat on their last game. I am so happy that Thiago got the chance to coach Carson in his first season. I know it was super hard with his busy schedule and he pretty much was going crazy at the end trying to figure out how to arrange his schedule and make it to the games. At one point I was even out there at the start trying to line up 12 little boys and get the game going (me who has absolutely zero sports experience....Thiago made it a few minutes later, thankfully.) I know Carson loved having his dad there, and it made him much more comfortable out there.
Yes, Carson may look like he is actively participating in these pictures...but don't let them fool you. (He is number three by the way).
This is a better portrayal of how he actually spent the majority of his games. Spinning around, talking to himself, kicking grass, pretending to be a rocket, hopping back and forth around the goal line, staring off into space....you name he did it. I can't tell you how many times Thiago would catch my eye, and we would just shake our heads. Like I said, I don't know that sports are going to be his thing. However, he was always excited, he loved the time with his dad and he gave it the best he had...whether he was interested or not. And for that I am incredibly proud of him.
In all honesty, this was probably his favorite thing about soccer. After the game ended, he would go play on the playground. I was always over there with Lincoln, and Carson would wander over claiming he was thirsty. Next thing I know he is going down the slide...I would have to gently remind him that he had a game going on.
All in all, we had fun. All of us, and even though I don't think the black eagles ever scored a goal (we had all beginners) it was still a great experience. Hopefully, Carson will be back for fall.

I can't believe the rotten luck you had with weather every week. Though seeing as how we have maybe one nice day in ten, I guess it's not hard to get bad weather every game day. Cars I would have loved seeing him as a rocket, what a boy!
I'm so proud of him too.he reminds me of me when it comes to sports. Not to interested. So cute though.
How cute is that! I think the first season of any sport is a little trying! I love that Thiago got the chance to coach him! And thinking of you coaching a team, I have to admit made me laugh a little! Anyways way to go Carson!
Funny about Carson always doing little things instead of playing his soccer game. I think most 4 year olds are that way. Thiago must have an amazing amount of patience to coach that age. Carson looked very cute in his soccer clothes.
That is so fun for Carson to have his Dad Coach.. I can't believe he is all done and I didn't even get to see him play... I love his soccer pictures they are way cute...
Oh Carson, what a cutie! At least he had fun doing his own thing. Cracks me up, there's always next year for him to come up with some mad soccer playin skills..right!?
