The time has come to say goodbye to these bad boys...
Yep, we went for it. Off came the training wheels this week. It took a little convincing, but we finally talked him into giving it a try.
Does he look a little nervous???
This would have to be his favorite part...the horn that dad installed. It is probably a good thing cause he has a tendency to think he owns the sidewalk. He has come awfully close to running a few people down.
Okay, dad you can let go....
and he's off...
Few things I have to remember about this little experience.
-He was a die hard. Took him about three days, to get the hang of it. However once he started there was no turning back. Come rain or shine he was BEGGING Thiago to go out and practice. There the two of them were in a complete downpour, poor Thiago. They both came in soaked in water, but with big victorious smiles on their faces.
-I was informed that I wasn't a very good teacher. I tried to help him while Thiago was at work one day, and I guess I wasn't very good at it. Carson was trying to teach me the right way to help him "no mom, you are starting out to fast, go slow and then I will pick up speed", "not by the turns, mom" , and my personal favorite "mom, when I say let go...just let go, quit hanging on". After about 10 minutes of this he finally just said "ok, thanks mom, but I will just wait for daddy to get home."
- And oh my goodness the feeling I had when I watched him "get it". Nothing tops that. Holy heck I was so dang proud. Thiago and I just stood there on the sidewalk, smiling and laughing like two idiots, looking around trying to see if anyone else was watching our boy, I mean he was riding without his training wheels for crying out loud. It was a big moment. A proud moment, those moments that you realize you are raising one heck of a good kid. Yeah, I was and still am PROUD!
And of course we can't forget Lincoln-boy and his scooter. Although he has had this mastered for a long time....now if he would just stay out of the street....
And the little one, he is a pro at chillin in his seat.
Actually him and I spend most of our time sitting on our lawn chair, cheering on our big brothers. Yay, for big brothers!
And thats a wrap...

Its funny how little things make you so proud, they seem small but they really are important these kids growing up first its training wheels then a drivers license!
That is awesome! Hunter isn't even close to getting his training wheels off, or wanting them off for that matter. Good job Carson!!
Yeah Carson...I can just see him now buzzing around the neighborhood with Lincoln tailing behind. Too cute!

Wow what a big boy!!
I'm scared for Hannah to do that. I am afraid of major wipeouts!! I guess it will happen eventually. He looks so proud. Cute!
Woo Hoo!!! Way to go Carson! They grow up too fast!!
Such a cute post Ter.
I for one am so glad I got to experience that bell first hand, now I know what not to buy Lance.
Isn't it funny the things that make you so proud, potty training was like that for me. I can just picture you and Theo standing smiling away like such dorks, so sweet. Good job Carsy, and thanks for inspiring Lance. He is all set to give it a go tomorrow!
