I think my husband would agree with me when I say I am probably one of the most annoying people on mothers day/my birthday. I really, really like to remind people of this. I can't get up and refill my drink cause its mothers day, I can't change diapers cause ya know, its mothers day...I can't settle arguments, I can't bath kids, can't fix their plates, can't hold the baby while I am trying to eat....and you know the list goes on and on. I figure I do these things 24-7, and for the most part don't mind, but one day a year (alright 2), I really can't lift a finger. I also like to be told multiple times throughout the day "happy mothers day", this makes me really, really happy. I have trained my kids well, especially Cars, he repeated that phrase about once every half hour or so. It was awesome.

It was a beautiful day. I am seriously kinda worried about our summer, I am wondering if it is going to be a long, hot one. We are having THE nicest weather lately. We almost hit 90 today. It is hot out there.
My day started out too early unfortunately. I am a bit of a procrastinator when it comes to preparing my primary lessons. Had to wake up early and get that ready to go. Luckily they are 9 year olds, not to intense..haha.
I also tried a new recipe for our get together later on that day.
Peaches and cream cake. Basically peach cobbler with a lovely little cream cheese layer. It did not disappoint.
We were hosting the mothers day celebration this year, so while I was busy in the kitchen the boys got some last minute patio stuff set up for our guests.
Time for my gifts...Carson brought me this from school as well as a little mom questionaire. One of the questions said "my mom is as beautiful as.....". He answered a flower. Sweet, he is a sweet, sweet boy. He then went on to tell me that the flower was his teacher's idea, and she was the one that had all the stuff and taught them how to do it. He told me I should probably thank his teacher as well as him. Haha....at least he is honest.
This is what Thiago got me. I have been wanting one for FOREVER. It is a little necklace with three tiny little hearts, each heart has the initial of one of my boys'. Cannot even tell you how much I love this freaking necklace. I feel like I am carrying them around with me each day. Right next to my heart. I love it.
Doesn't it look cute. It is the perfect size too. I have a hard time wearing big, bulky necklaces. I like big earings, but not necklaces. I always feel like they look weird on me. I like tiny, little delicate ones....just like this.
Me and my boys....all ready to head off to church.
My family and Thiago's family all came over for a little mothers day BBQ later on that day. We just bring our own meat to grill and everyone brings either a side or a dessert. That way one mother isn't stuck in the kitchen all day. Works out great.
Me and my sweet mom..
and her and Ash.
And her and Jen.
Her gift. It is this cute little frame that has different sayings you can put in it. Their is a light attached to the back and makes the saying illuminate. It is really cute, I think she liked it.
My mom and granny girl.
Me and Thiago and his mom.
I have the sweetest mother in law, she bought me these earings. Which I thought were really cute.
It was truly a great day. I love days spent with loved ones and good food. Who doesn't. If only mothers day came more often than just once a year.....

Great pictures Teri!
Sounds like a lovely Mother's Day friend.
I just love your necklace. Is that a Lisa Leonard? So so pretty!!!
Your family bbq sounds like fun, and what nice weather you got too!
I agree we deserve one or two days a year to take a break from reality. Eric is really good on my birthday and mothers day but I really wish he would embrace the whole birthday week thing. It could be so great you know!
Such a great day, you were a wonderful hostess as always. And boy is your yard gorgeous, I bet it looks even better know that you or I mean Ash got your flowers in. Can't wait to see them.
I LOVE the neclace that Thiago got you. I've been telling Devan for years I'd love a neclace similar to that. I must ask where he got that?
I'm so glad you had such a wonderful Mother's Day! Now, what do you say about sharing that yummy peach recipe??? I'd love it if you'd email me - msparks0615@gmail.com. :)
