I've always enjoyed Memorial Day, for most of my life we have always done the same thing, tweaking here and there as the years have gone by. I love it cause it is always right on the verge of summer, the excitement of school being almost out lingers with you and it makes for a great holiday. Plus this year I have been missing my super ridiculously busy husband so much, that it was so nice to have a full day to spend with him and our boys. I kinda wanted an updated family picture for this little decor project I am working on so I made my sister meet me at our house first thing in the morning and take this quick picture. Its not perfect, but it will do. Best out of the 5 we took.

We then headed to breakfast. We go out to breakfast maybe three times a year. New Years Day, Memorial Day and the first day down to our Island Park vacation. That is usually it. And if you know me, you know breakfast is my absolute favorite meal to eat out for. I just totally love it. We went to Jeremiahs, it was kinda a wait so the kids kept themselves busy in the little gift shop. We went with Ash and the kids and my mother in law and Rosemary.
My kids are big fans of breakast too. It is the only meal I can count on all three of them to eat well. Carson is going through a major growth spurt lately. That kid can really put food away. He ate an entire pancake that was as big as his plate, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 scrambled eggs and a few oranges. It was amazing. Sometimes when I watch my boys eat it makes me very afraid for my future grocery bill...3 growing boys. Yikes.
Then it was off to Willard cememtery with my mom's dad to visit the graves of his loved ones. A few of my aunts, uncles and other cousins come as well. Its always kinda nice to get together. Plus our kids loved it. Appearantly the cemetery is one of the coolest places to visit if you are under the age of 6. They were loving it.
My grandpa Woodyatt (my moms dad) and Lincoln. Linc is sitting on top of his great, great Grandpa Woodyatt's grave. I love this Grandpa of mine, he is quite the charachter, an absolute goofball and one of my very favorite people. He loves to make us laugh and he does a great job of it.
Love this picture of my boys and grandpa. Look at his expression, I know I will always cherish this picture. Warms my heart.
I was a little camera happy. Weird huh, so unheard of for me. Ha.
My grandpa then took all of us for pizza. The big boys got there very own table. This is a pretty big deal people, they were on cloud nine.
We then headed home for a couple of hours to get a couple of things done. I had mountains of laundry and Thiago needed to get our next application of fertilizer down on our lawn.
I was visiting with him outside while he did it, and noticed quite a few strawberries coming in. Me and the boys set to work picking them. Look at that. Home grown berries.
We ended the day at my inlaws for a small BBQ. My husbands aunt and kids are in town this week for my sister in laws highschool graduation, so they were all there as well. I have probably only been around Thiago's aunt 4, maybe 5 times in our married life. She lives in Illinois and doesn't make it down here often. It is his only blood related family that is here in the states so it is always fun to get to spend time with them.
That was Memorial Day...

I love Grandpa's expression in that picture with the boys, that is really a keeper.
Do you guys really eat all those strawberries? Are you ever sick of them by the end of the season. I bought a huge old thing from Lee's the other day and ended up throwing half of them away because apparently everybody is sick of them around here and I can only make so many smoothies.
Love the Family picure. I can't believe how grown up your Niece looks all of sudden. Looks like a perfect Memorial day to me.
