Girls Weekend

Starting last year, my mom and sisters and I plan a little weekend in October to head down to Salt Lake. We leave Friday night, stay the night in a hotel and then shop all day Saturday. Pretty much the funnest outing ever. We all save up a bit so we can kinda just go crazy. No kids slowing us down, no husbands telling us no, just 4 girls that LOVE to shop. Combine that with a late night chick flick, a couple of good restaurants, some to die for desserts and my 3 best friends and it makes for a spectacular weekend. Here's the highlights...

First things first, standing in the lobby of our hotel, we got asked if we were here for the highschool girl convention. Haha. Nope, not unless they invite almost 30 year olds. Not even close guy, but thanks for the compliment. Pretty much made our night.

Rainy, rainy, rainy. Perfect night for boots and umbrellas. Guess my sisters and mom all got that memo. Nope, not me...I had on flats that squished my uneven sized feet and got soaking wet. Dang.

Dodo's for dinner. I ordered beef stragonoff. It was delicious, they forgot the meat though. Luckily I am not much of a meat eater. Noodles, mushrooms, and cream sauce suited me just fine. Thought it was kinda weird though.

Tollhouse pie for dessert. Giant piece of pie filled with chocolate chip cookie dough. Divine.

Movie time. "Trouble with the Curve". Only people in the theater besides two teenage boys. Which I thought was odd. Ha. We were freezing and brought in blankets. Possibly looked strange. The most boring movie EVER. I hated it. My family kinda liked it, better than I did I guess. Boring, boring.

Stayed up too late talking that night. Whats new.

Next morning, I was the first to wake up and start getting ready and still the last to finish. Haha. I'm slow. Its okay though, they are all pretty used to it.

Wore my new purple skinnies, black uggs, and curled my hair. It was a good day.

We stood out in the parking lot and took a bazillion pictures cause we are totally weird like that. Got quite a few strange looks from passerbyers, thats okay. Stare away.

Baby Phongsavath is growing. Ash is looking noticeably pregnant now. Super cute, I love it.

Stopped at Starbucks first, salted caramel hot chocolate for most of us....I may have tried a pumpkin spice latte. I'm terrible, I blame my dad and his love of coffee.

On to city creek. Where we spent a good 3 hours in Chicco's. With my mom. Who tried on outfit after outfit. With accessories. Over and over and over again. Ashley buzzed about gathering her more and more stuff while Jen and I sat in a chair next to the dressing room. Watching people, chit chatting and playing on Instagram. Sounds about right.

After my mother spent a small fortune at Chicco's, she gave us free reign. H&M, Nordstroms, American Eagle, Baby Gap and Macey's is where we spent most of our time. We did good. Lots of treasures.

Nordstroms cafe for a late lunch. I order a Shrimp and Crab Louis salad with a small cup of chicken pot pie soup. Took a picture of the soup, then the salad came and I was just too dang excited to eat it and forgot to take a picture. Too bad. You guys would have enjoyed the picture, it was pretty.

I bought a watch at american eagle, about a half hour later discovered I had laid the bag down somewhere. We did some serious back tracking. Ash found it back in the courtyard. Sweet success!

Ended our day with candied apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate. Pumpkin pie flavored. Ahhhhh. Oh and then we stopped for a coke from Mcdonalds on the way home. Perfect ending to a perfect day.

Shortest 24 hours of my life, it flew by. Then I was home and back to reality. Turns out my reality is pretty good though. Three sweet babes and husband who took perfect care of them all weekend. Thanks honey. And thanks mom and girls...it was just what we all needed!
