Down and Out

Don't ya love the pictures...my honey is on the injured list. Last week at Thiago's indoor soccer game, he had a little injury. He was kinda just standing there blocking a guy, and the guy went to the right, and Thiago went to move with him, but something went wrong with his knee and it didn't move with the rest of him. He heard a pop, and thought uh-oh. Needless to say, his knee is bruised, huge and swollen, and he can barely walk on it. We have been afraid that it was a torn ACL, or something like that. We finally got him into the doctor yesterday, and it is a little of bad and good news. It is not a torn ACL (which is one of the worst knee injuries you can have), however it does appear to be a torn miniscus. No good!! We have an appointment, next week for him to get an MRI to make sure that is the problem. If so, it will require minor surgery and a scope. SIGH!! All over something so stupid. The good news is our insurance completely covers the MRI, we will just need to pay $200 for the surgery if it comes to that. Poor guy, he can barely walk around on it, I am not the most sympathetic person and am kinda going crazy with him just hanging around all the time. It is amazing how much stuff your husband does for you, all the sudden he is injured and lets just say I am totally missing his strength. He can't go up and down the stairs to get my laundry loads, can't kneel to help me bath Carson, we have been moving around stuff in our basement and had to have his dad and brother come and help. Crazy, how we take our good health for granted...things Thiago does on a regular basis have been a real struggle for him this week. Anyways, I hope all goes well with the MRI, and by some miracle we don't need surgery...but we will see!!
