We had our first Christmas party of the year today. Lots of fun, if you read my previous post then you will remember me saying I am kinda a scrooge this year. I just feel really overwhelmed with the whole Christmas thing. I feel like I am trying to adjust to having two kids and all, and Christmas is just kind of getting in the way of that. I hope to snap out of this, cause I am usually such a fan of Christmas time. Carson on the other hand is so excited, this is the first year he has really got what is going on . He is loving every minute of it, the lights, decorations, christmas songs, cards...everything. I am trying to get myself excited for his sake. Anyways, here we are getting ready to leave for the party. Carson drove me crazy all morning, everywhere I went he followed me around. He would hang on my leg, and say "me ready to go to the party". To say he was excited was an understatement.
The actual party was kinda lame...sorry Granny O but not the funnest. We had to drive like 2 hours to get there. The minute we did, Lincoln woke up and was hungry as heck. So I spent an hour trying to feed him, he was having a fussy time and threw everything back up 3 times. All over me, AGAIN! Carson was not a spit-uppy kid, so I am not used to this. Anyways, the food was just so-so, didn't know a whole lot of people, so it wasn't the funnest.
My mom holding the little squirt, after he finally settled down.
Lincoln meeting Santa for the first time...he was very impressed!
This was the highlight of the day. Carson LOVES Santa!! Some kids are afraid and cry...not this kid. We were at the mall the other day, just me and Carson. We were in the elevator and I pointed Santa out to Carson as we headed down. He was instantly excited, and as soon as we got off the elevator he wanted to go see him up close. So I walked him over there thinking he would just look from a distance. I hadn't really planned on having him go talk to Santa or anything. Oh no, Carson walked right on over to that Santa and just started talking. I was shocked, he didn't even hesitate. Well since then, it is all he can talk about. The minute this Santa showed up to the party, Carson just followed him around. He was trying to hold his hand and kept talking to him. Santa's little shadow. When Santa called his name to go get his present he just walked right on up there. Cute as can be!
So even though the party was kinda dumb, I would go again in a minute to see that smile. Nothing makes me happier as a mom, then to see my children smiling and laughing and having a good time. That is what we live for, right?? They are the reason behind all that we do, and they make it all worth it. Carson had a great time, therefore I had a great time!

None of you guys really liked it but I thought it was all right then again I didn't spend half my time feeding a fussy baby. ha ha! I am not at all surprised Carson loved Santa that kid isn't scared of anything however I am shocked Lance liked him so much...
Fun time with you guys but as for the party not the best one I've ever been too. I didn't get any pictures really don't expect to see a post. Poor little Lincoln he gets so sad. OUr shopping trip was fun. I love spending time with you guys even though I didn't get anything done.
I'm sure you'll get into the spirit once it gets a little closer. I can't imagine what you must be feeling with w new little one PLUS the thrill of Christmas around the corner. You'll find a way--it seems you always do :)
If you have a Christmas tree, then you have Christmas spirit honey. You are doing fine! You have a brand new baby! Just love that baby and don't worry about the decor and the stupid stuff.
Oh Carson. I love that he was Santa's little shadow! This year will be Kade's first official year meeting that jolly old man. We'll see how it goes. (I bet we'll have a screamer!)
Teri! I feel so out of it! I feel like I haven't checked anybody's blog in like forever. Without blogging I am so out of touch with the world! ;) No but really - you look so stinkin' good it's disgusting. Your little Lincoln is the cutest thing ever! Seriously - he is making me baby hungry again - and I didn't think that was possible!! Cole is almost ONE! And it seems like I was in your position just yesterday. So I don't need to tell you to enjoy every minute of it! It looks like Carson is just loving him to death. I hope that keeps up. He seems like an easy going enough little kid that he'll do just great. Anyway - just wanted to tell ya that I love ya. Let me know when you guys can play. I am seriously serious as ever about it. I really want to get together. Call me! 860-5498 anytime and we'll plan it. Take care.
That makes it so fun that Carson loves Santa. No need to worry about him coming to your house on Christmas Eve unlike someone else I know. Cute pictures of you all.
Well even if the party wasn't to fun, the pictures were worth it. They all turned out so cute. The party just wasn't fun because I wasn't there ha,ha.
I think you are doing great for just having a baby. It's a lot harder to do things with a new baby, I think people understand. The best presents are sometimes gift cards!
