I can't believe my little boy is a sunbeam. He really is no longer a baby in anyway, he is such a big boy now. It was a bittersweet moment for me today, to send my little guy into primary. He has kinda been heaving a rough time in nursery lately, since our ward split. He finally got the hang of it though and was doing fine this last week. Well today he made another change...no longer with all the babies in nursery, he made his way in with the big kids in primary. I was so proud of him. We have been talking about it all week, trying to get him excited about it. I thought it worked, but when we got in the primary room with all those screaming kids...well he got very nervous. Poor little guy, he was trying so very hard to be brave but you could tell how scared he was. I walked him up to the front where the sunbeams sit, and showed him his teacher and all that. I then walked to the side of the room by the door, I told him I wouldn't leave until I made sure he was going to be okay. He sat so very brave in his little chair, he had his little finger up by his mouth which is what he does when he is nervous. He kept looking over to make sure I was there, I would smile and tell him it was okay. I sat and watched him look around, trying so hard to not cry. But then that little bottom lip started to quiver, he caught himself though and just looked at me again. He sat just like that for about 15 minutes. I finally caught his eye again and waved goodbye, he waved back but as I was leaving the room I could hear him starting to cry. Break my heart. I knew I just needed to go though, his teacher was great and was right next to him in seconds. I stood outside the door for a second, until I couldn't hear him anymore and then I peaked through the window. He was fine, sitting on his teachers lap watching the kids sing. Oh goodness, I cry typing it. How hard it is sending him out in this world. I know it is silly, its just sunbeams for heaven sakes, but oh the look on his face. I wish I could keep him little forever sometimes, right here safe in my arms. This age is so hard because they want the independence and are starting to break away from always needing our constant care, but it is so hard to let him go. He is my baby and I want to keep him within my protective grasp, but I know that I can't do that. He needs to experience life and everything they goes along with it. Which includes becoming a sunbeam. He made it all through class, and came out all smiles telling me about what they did and proudly showing me his little "I am a child of God" picture. Love this little boy, cannot imagine my life without him in it.

I'm jealous you got that over with, I have geared myself up all week for that moment and it's kind of dissapointing to have got the time wrong and now have to gear myself up for next week. You are lucky Cars did okay, I have a feeling I will be going to sunbeams next week with Lance...He looks so darling I just really can't believe we have primary aged kids now, crazy!
How fun, I teach the sunbeams and they are all so cute! We had 22 new sunbeams today, we had to split them into 2 classes, and yes we had a few tears but in the end it all worked out, I'm sure Carson will love it, it just takes a while to get used to!
Oh Teri you made me cry!!!! It is so true though sending them out into this scary world alone you just want to keep them safe!!! Glad he was brave Way to go Cars!!
Good job Carson I'm so proud of you. He is getting so big how time flies. I'm glad we got tp spend New Years with you and the Cano's. I love you guys I love having you so close I always have a friend. That picture of Elle and Lincoln is cute it looks like the are holding hands. You are such a cute family I love seeing the things you do together even though most I'm either there or I hear about. I'm pretty much part of the family at all times.
That sounds exactally like Mitchell, lst year! The little hand at the lip, trying to be so tough! Its gets better I promise, although it took Mitchell a few months to really get into the swing of things! Faye went to Nursery for the first time today! These kids just get big wayyy to fast!
Also the movie we went and saw was Yes Man! I would not recomend it, it was awful, I guess we should have known though! But last weekend we went and saw Seven Pounds didn't quite know what to think at first, but now I want to watch it again. And we also took Mitchell to Bedtime Stories...it was great, so Two out of Three isn't bad, now I really want to see Benjamin Button though! Anyways there you go for a novel!
Wow what a big day! I would feel the same way as you. I am impressed I taught sunbeams for three years and it is hard on those little ones to move up into primary. He did a great job!!
Tell Carson how proud I am of him. He makes the cutest Sunbeam ever. It broke my heart reading about it though. Have a good day!!!
I love primary and Gehrig loves it! I am so grateful. I am in the primary doing the music so Gehrig gets to see me but he told his teachers all sorts of stories on Sunday probably some I don't want him to but hey at least he like them. I can't wait until their first primary program and them sitting on the stand. It is kinda sad though they are growing up so fast.
next milestone: dropping theo off at elders quorum. if you really want to see someone cry, try doing that next week :)
I can't believe Carson is in primary already! Time really does fly by. I'm in the primary presidency in our ward and it's always so fun having the new sunbeams come in, you never know what their going to do!
Talk about time flying by...Kade will be in nursery next month! I'm so sad!
Wow, he is such a cutie little guy! I love the adorable sweater vest.
