Its official....I have a preschooler. Carson's first day was yesterday and he absolutely loved it. He wasn't nervous at all, just so excited. He kept talking, and talking, and talking about it. Asking all kinds of questions about what kinds of things they were going to do, who was in his class, what would his teacher be like. All kinds of things. I knew he was going to be fine eventually but I really thought the first day would make him a little apprehensive. Nope, not the case. He walked right in there, turned and smiled at me and said good-bye and that was it. Not another look back. As I walked back to the car I could feel myself tearing up a bit, felt weird to just leave him there. A part of me was sad, knowing that he no longer needs me in the same way that he used to. However, the bigger part of me was just so dang proud, proud of this kid I am raising. Milestone in his little life, and he met it...head up, no fear. Gotta admire that.
A few shots to document his day, starting it all out right with a good breakfast. My mom made me a hot breakfast every single day of my schooling years, without fail. I will do the same for my kids. Carson's request was toast with cinnamon sugar, scrambled eggs and orange juice.
He was so antsy, I could harldy get a decent picture of him. He just wanted to get this show on the road. No time for pictures, just wanted to get in the car and go.
Talking to his teacher before class started. I wanted more pictures but thought it was best if I didn't hang around. So I just snapped this one and headed out.
His prize for a successful first day. He would have been fine with or without a prize, but a little bribery never hurts, right? After I picked him up we went for a little after school snack and got some icecream.
So proud of you my boy, but please always remember no matter how big you get you are ALWAYS my baby. Forever and ever, that is something a mom just can't let go of.

I'm so glad he did so good on his first day. I felt the same way you did, it's so strange to leave them somewhere alone. I love that he was so independant and brave though, that does say a lot about his character. That preschool looks super cute. I'm sure he'll have a great year and learn a ton.
He's so darling, I just can't believe he had no tears at tall. Eric and I were excited because after three weeks Lance for the first time had no tears, count your blessings. It's even harder dropping off your sobbing child, I felt like the worlds worst mother. Love that you made him breakfast, that was one of the greatest things about mom every morning we all always had something warm and not just cereal. A good tradition to carry on for your kids.....
How cute is that! I cannot believe all of these boys getting so big, and he looks so darn cute! What a big guy to just walk right in! And what a great mom...warm breakfast is always good!
I can't believe how grown up he is! You are the cutest mom Teri! A hot breakfast is the best. Congrats Carson on your first day of preschool!

What a cute kid! Way to go Carson! Don't worry I always bribe my kids too. I don't think I know anyone that doesn't. If it works, it works!
