The perfect little ending to all my Christmas activities before the big day. We got together just my mom and me and my two sisters. No kids, no husbands...just us. We all brought a portion of the meal and met up at my moms house. We ate appetizers and then sat and talked. We ate our meal, then sat and talked. We ate dessert and drank hot chocolate...and then sat and talked. I got home and Thiago asked what I did and I told him. He gave me a weird look and just kinda shook his head. Men, they just don't get it. It was just what I needed. The craziness of the season was starting to overwhelm me. Running here and there with different activities and trying to get everything ready for the big day. Causes me to lose sight of the meaning behind it all. This evening recaptured it for me. Sitting there in my moms gorgeous house, my tummy full, and just sitting there laughing and talking with my three best friends. The three girls I would do just about anything for. We laughed about our childhood memories, about our kids, about the day to day stuff. It was so great. I love you three, so much. This is where my love of Christmas comes from. Mom, thank-you for always making this time of year so magical for us. The warmth of your home is truly my heaven on earth. Sisters, we share a lifetime of crazy memories. Sitting up in Jen's bed at 5:00 in the morning, playing games and waiting to go down and see what Santa brought. The Christmas's we spent together will always be close to my heart and they are what I am trying to recreate for my children. Love you three ladies, thanks for the great night!
My mom gave us this little picture of us three girls, I think we are like 4 and 6 in it. We are sitting in front of our Christmas tree. It is one of my moms favorites and she pulls it out every Christmas. What a thoughtful gift, I just keep looking at it and remembering how sweet life was.
My gift for the girls.
And the presents I went home with. Picture from my mom, cookies and candies from Jen and eggnog from Ash. Yum!
Thanks again you girls for such a great evening, I love you!

That's funny because that is exactly what Eric said "all you did was eat and talk, like you guys don't do that every day". They just don't understand, it was a perfect night just what we needed as busy moms.
By the way my word verification is hallymoo, isn't that funny!
So happy you had a perfect night and I have loved hearing about your activites this season. Thanks so much for the visit and the goodies it was so thoughtful of you...and of course, Carson is just a delight.
You ladies are so crafty!
Thanks for the kind words friend...did you know that I had a miscarriage or were you really just pulling that memory out of your hat, because your intuition is right on!
That sounds absolutely delightful! What a great idea! I love it! And that picture, how perfect to get to put that out with your Christmas decorations every year!
