For the one year old

Drakey bugs big day!!! The little guy celebrated big, as big as you can when you are one year old and have no idea why everyone keeps singing to you and handing you brightly colored packages. (No, that picture on my frame has nothing to do with Drake...it is a friend's baby, remember that is also my memo board.)



He was so overjoyed with party anticipation he went right to sleep. Little nap.


Once he woke up, I tried to take a few pictures of him while I still had decent lighting. Unfortunately I am a pretty anal person and all I see when looking at these pictures is the big slobber spot right there on his shirt. Ahhhh, it bugs. He can be such a drooly kid, somedays are worse than others and this was a bad day. His shirt was wet the entire time.


Brotherly love...its the sweetest.


We dropped off big brother at school and then headed to Walmart....party central. Ha. We met up with Ash and the kids there. You know shopping is always funner with a friend or two.


Stopped in at Mcdonalds for a kids meal for Linc, coke for me, and a yogurt parfait for the birthday boy (he loves those things). I have one of the sweetest friends in all the world who sent me a little McD's gift card for my upcoming birthday. It truly made my day and was so very thoughtful of her. Thanks sweet friend!

Okay, okay...no more shopping cart pictures. He is just so stinkin cute. Honestly, just looking all handsome like in his Donald Duck shirt.


Apparently I lingered to long at Walmart cause the time I finally got done it was already time to pick up Carson. Over 2 hours spent at Walmart. I am a loser. In my defense, it was a pretty big list.


Went home a did some party prep.


Then I sulked cause once again the weather sucked and my sister couldn't make it to the party. Stupid Sardine Canyon, its a death trap. Missed you so much Jen and kids. Just wasn't the same without you.


See that birthday banner, well it is still hanging in that spot. I am gonna leave it up all week in honor of my birthday as well. Cause ya know, it is cool for grown-up 29 year old girls to have Mickey Mouse birthday banners. Makes this girl smile.



One of my favorite things about birthdays is planning the menu. I don't know why it excites me so. I try to do something different for each of my boys. For Drake's we had shredded BBQ beef sandwiches, broccoli salad, coleslaw, potato salad and chips and dip. And I made lime rickies. It was super yum!




Wouldn't you know, the one night I wanted the boy to take a late nap and he wanted nothing to do with it. Which left me with a pretty ornery little birthday boy. Luckily, Drakes ornery is not really all that bad. He doesn't fuss a whole lot, he was just a lot more mellow than he usually is. Oh well.



He was more interested in the remote than his actual presents. Silly boy.

He did enjoy the birthday singing. Probably the highlight of his night. Like I mentioned before the Brazilian happy birthday is a pretty fun little song. It has alot of clapping and all together loudness. He was thinking it was pretty grand.


He was kinda funny about the cake. He loved eating it when we fed it to him, however he didn't really understand what he was supposed to do with it just sitting there. He kinda stuck his hands in for a minute and then just sat there staring at us like "what, what do you want me to do". Funny boy.


A few of his presents, the others weren't in there yet. He got two little walkers and he totally loves them. I just laugh cause he just looks so dang little on those tiny little legs pushing those things around. Its too funny.


It was a pretty good day for a pretty sensational little boy. We love you so much Drakey-bug. Happy birthday buddy!
