Island Park...round 1

I am back from my adventures. First off, Girls Camp...not a single picture. Too hectic, and I also forgot my camera. Oh well, it was actually a ton of fun. I worried, and stressed, and fretted....but when it comes right down to it I had a great time. It was one of those experiences that was completely out of my comfort zone, I had no idea what I was doing but I can truly say I gave it my all and did the best possible job I could do. And in the end it came together perfectly, and I am proud of myself....if I am allowed to say that. Don't get me wrong, I am soooo happy it is over but it is something I will always look back on with happy memories.

Now, onto Island Park. Tons of pictures, so I will split them up into two posts.

First day...breakfast at some little diner along the way. If you are thinking my eyes look a little sad in this picture, you would be right. I got home from camp the previous night at 9:00....by the time I straightend up my house, finished up on laundry, and got me and the kids packed...well needless to say I barely got two hours of sleep. So if I look tired, its cause I was.

We usually stop at Bear World along the way, however they charge an arm and a leg to see like 2 bears and in the end everyone's favorite part is the little toy center. So we for-goed it, and stopped at a family fun center instead.

They had all kinds of things...bounce houses, rocket rides, bumper boats, tug boats, go carts...lots of stuff. Here is Cars on the go-carts...getting lapped continously by Lance. Carson struggled, enough said.

little boats...this bored them pretty quick.

Thiago and the tiny little speck next to him is Lincoln (who loved it.)

It was a fun little place...after a few hours we headed back to the cars to finish up our drive.

Wish I had thought to take a picture of the whole cabin, but I didn't. Go look at my sister Jenny's blog if you would like to see the massiveness of this place. My uncle rented the biggest cabin he could find for all 36 of us. It was so beautiful, and so much fun. Here is our little bedroom.

Jen's room had a little TV so each morning the little ones would migrate over there while we got ourselves ready. This was the best part of it all for me, watching my kids interact with their cousins and aunts and uncles. I love the memories they are making and the relationships they are forming. I treasure the memories I have with my Williams cousins and I hope my kids are doing the same.

We decided to float the river this morning being as this was going to be the warmest day we were going to get. And it didn't even hit 70. If you are looking for a nice, sunny, summer vacation...don't go to Island Park. I was pretty dang cold.

We survived it however...a few water fights along the way, one ornery little Lincoln and Carson being so dang close to the edge he fell in...this kid has no fear.

Finally at the end of our 2 1/2 hour trip, Lincoln exhausts himself to sleep. Why oh why does he fight it...what a naughty little chicken. Pretty sure my entire family breathed a sigh of relief everytime this kid fell asleep...sorry guys I know he is alot to deal with.

Went back to the cabin, rested, got cleaned up a little and headed into town. Me and my favorite...a whole bag of salt water taffy. Yum...ate every single piece myself within the first two days. I don't feel bad, it was that good.

A few other shots of my little family enjoying our night on the town...

thats it for now, off to bed for me. Stay tuned for more...

Looks like you guys had tons of fun! Half our ward has gone up to Island Park this summer, I guess we are not in the elite group. But we missed you guys down here. Our get togethers are not the same if we don't have Lincoln and Carson running around. As, for Brazil, Tyler was more sad then I was, he was excited to watch the final game with a bunch of brazilians. He has now vowed to never watch soccer, except we he has seen every game since and I now in 4 years it will be the same!

Welcome home...so happy about camp. There is something about girls camp that just draws one in.

Great pictures of the family trip...just thinking about that little one (Lincoln) just makes me smile. I'm sure he kept you all on your toes.

Glad you are home...see you Sunday.

I love to read your version of things, it's funny the things you thought to take pictures of that I didn't and vise versa. I am so sad my taffy was gone in 2 days, I sure could use a piece right about now, I wonder if any place nearby sells such wonderful taffy?
