Finding Fall....

October 1st today. Does it feel like it??? No, not really....not when we are all still wearing shorts and flipflops. When are AC is still blasting and we sleep with our ceiling fans on. When I am craving ice cold drinks rather than foamy hot chocolate.

But its coming, it is. Fall is almost here, there are little signs all around us. My most favorite time of the year is finally here. I absolutely love it. Its not so much fall that I love, but the start of the best time of the year. The kickoff of all that is to come. Whats not to love?

I've been going out of my way to capture a few of my fall favorites. The little things that make you remember that nip in the air, that sweater season is fast approaching. The cozy-comfiness of home that you truly come to appreciate in the cold months looming before us.

Here is a few..

Sugared doughnuts and apple cider, yes please. One of my favorites. Reminds me of fall carnivals and festivals.

A few less taco salads...

And a lot more taco soup. I love me some comfort food.

Banana bread...I absolutely love fall baking. The one time of year I kinda get into it. Banana breads, pumpkin cookies and cakes, any kind of cobbler or crisp.

And of course my hot chocolate...complete with whip cream and cinnamon/sugar. I get home from my early morning walks and make me some. Settle on the couch and watch TV for a sec, enjoy the early morning hours with a sleeping house.

Who could forget the bags and bags of Halloween candy. I probably buy about 5 bags before the big day and usually end up eating them all myself. Yep, I do.

Now I hate to admit it but I am a big fan of fall TV. I love having a good show to look forward to after the littles are sound asleep...

Vampire Diaries....who do I love more Stefan or Damon, such a tough decision. I'm going with Damon.

Dancing with the Stars....so far I like Brandy and Kyle Massey.

And of course, we all know I do enjoy a little decor...

just a glimpse of a few little corners of my home.

Whats fall without a pumpkin spice candle wafting through your home...such a pleasant smell to walk into.

Wrapping up yard work....a few more weeks and I am pulling up my flowers and dumping my pots. Did go ahead and decorate my front door though.

Some odds and ends...

Got a full month of school behind us, already my fridge is looking a little perkier with Cars's art work adorning it.

Nothing better than snuggling up with a good book....Mockingjay for me and the boys are enjoying Carson's new book order that just arrived. Lincoln likes the planets cause he thinks they are all "balls" and Cars likes his Dinos.

Halloween costumes have arrived, heck we even have gone and got pictures taken already. Hint for one little Cano boy....it involves big black ears and leggings...be ready, its funny!

Warm, flannely jammies with snuggy slippers...for all of us might I add. Well, except for our dad...not really his thing.

And last but certainly not least...some fall foliage. Not as much as I would like due to these hot temps, but soon enough.

Well, there you are. Hope you are all feeling a little more autumnish after this post. Happy October all....let the fun begin!!!

I love fall! Reading your post makes me so excited to get all my fall decor out. I'm a little behind, usually it's out by the end of September.

So I am planning on doing a Halloween get together...maybe around the 15th or so, let me know if you guys are available. I'm totally thinking a murder mystery party it would be a blast!

Yes let it begin. I do kinda like the warm weather still except it is making me not want to pull my flowers or cut anything back. I am going to though within the next week no matter what. I need to know that things are winding down out in the endless yard work. Love you fall decorations. Hey we have found that if you put some vanilla coffee creamer in your hot chocolate it is delightfu1!! Try it. Happy Fall to you. Next..........Christmas decorations. I really could start now if I felt it was okay with the rest of society.

Cute cute pictures Ter, I do love how we both had different ideas. The decorations look darling, as does your front door.

I thought we both liked Stefan, when did you switch to Damon? I can't get into DWTS, not sure why.

Your hot chocolate mug is so cute, love Jo's idea of creamer in hot chocolate, I am going to try that.

Oh, how happy this has made me...let me sum up.
Cider and Donuts
Salads and Soups
Baked Good and Cocoa
Candy
Well my pretty, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Thanks for such a fun and original post...I appreciate it and now I am truly ready for Fall. Only one thing that will make it better...to see who and what goes behind those big black ears and leggins...the suspense will kill me.

I love fall! And I love your decorations, it makes me super excited for this month and the coming months.

I have never tried cinnamon sugar on hot cocoa, but that sounds amazing!

I love your posts. That's it, I just LOVE your posts! This one was great and really made me look forward to Fall, even though I have an idea it will only last about a week and then it will be full fledged winter - but lets hope for the best! P.s. your banana bread looked amazing!

Cute post Teri I love this time of year too. I especially love the colors the smells, my home decor. Love it, love it. I agree its time for a bit colder weather though not quite so autumn in shorts and flipflops. I guess to rush it though right.
