Well, it happened. The number one thing I have always feared, actually happened to me. I almost don't even want to say, because it is SOOOO embarassing. But.... I ran out of gas on the FREEWAY!! Could I be a bigger retard, what 25 year old adult with 2 children in the back of her car, actually runs out of gas. The answer is me! I honestly don't know where my brain has been the last couple of days...I am doing the dumbest things, left and right, everytime I turn around I am being stupid. It all started Wednesday, Thiago had drove my car all day and had run the gas tank pretty low, and of course he failed to tell me. I got in my car to go to work Thursday morning, and saw that it was low, the gas light wasn't on, so I figured I could make it to Roy and would be fine. Well, I got to work just fine. For lunch that day I had made a Dr. appointment in Ogden, I ended up getting out of there a little later than I was supposed to and I didn't want to be late for my appointment, so I called Thiago and asked him if I would be okay to make it to Ogden without getting gas. He said I would be fine, but to make sure and fill up before I tried to drive back. The Doctor was forever behind (like they always are) and I was gone for like 2 1/2 hours. I was worried that my work was going to be concerned where I was, so I hurried and drove back without filling up. Risky, I know, but I made it. So that night comes, and Ashley came to meet me at work cause we were going to a family dinner at Maddox with my entire extended family. Well, I got distracted in the excitement of getting the kids in the car and talking to Ashley, that I totally spaced my gas situation. We got in the car and headed off. Around 31st street, I noticed the car acting funny, it was slowing down like I was pushing on the breaks, but I wasn't. All the sudden I remembered the gas. Oh, my gosh...how mad was I . Can you say embarassing. I hurried and got over in the right lane trying to make it as close to the exit as I could. The car just kept slowing. Here I am cruising on the freeway, almost down to 20 miles an hour until the car just stopped. I started crying and freaking out, Ashley was the calm one and started making the phone calls. Luckily, Jill and Kyle were just passing us on the freeway (they were headed the same place we were), being the kind souls they are they pulled off to go and get us some gas and bring it back. I sat there crying, while Carson and Brevin patted my arm and Carson kept saying "Naughty new car, its okay mommy". Well, soon U-dot pulled up behind us, to see what the problem is...Ashley did all the talking and said we had help on the way. He pulled away and Kyle showed up to fill us up with at least a gallon. Well, we were so completely dry that the gallon wouldn't even do it. So Kyle stays with us, while Jill heads for my gas. In the meantime, U-dot shows up again, wondering why we are still sitting there. Kyle explains the situation, and the nice U-dot guy filled us up and got us started. We made it to Maddox, only about 45 minutes late. AAAHHH, what a nerd I am . Sorry, sorry, sorry to Jill, Kyle, Tam and kids...but most of all thank-you for rescuing us. I swear this will never happen again, I have definitely learned my lesson on running low on gas. For all of you out there, if this ever happens to you, after you fill up your gas don't start the ignition immediatly, turn the key just a little so your battery lights up then turn it off again , 3 times do this before starting the car. This will get the gas flowing in the pipes or something like that. Otherwise, you will still be sitting there. Well, there you go ...another crazy, embarassing story about Teri. (Between this and my April fools joke, I am really sounding like an idiot)

Teri,
Don't feel bad! I ran out of gas trying to make it to my favorite gas station. I passed not one, but two gas stations trying to make it there. I ran out of gas just two blocks away from the gas station!! I was so embarrassed! I walked the two blocks and sat wand waited for Derek to come and rescue me. If I were you, I'd blame Thiago for taking your car and not refueling! Derek does this to me all the time. Thankfully though, I have learned to leave about 5 minutes earlier to get to a gas station if I need it. Happy driving!
Oh Bud we all do stupid things. Don't worry about it. My kids thought it was a fun adventure. You have a lot on your plate right now, so I can see how you forgot. I love you! Keep smiling..
I am so sorry! That is one of my biggest fears also, and how crappy that it happened to you. At least you had your sister with you to help with the situation. I am glad everything worked out and you got to your dinner.
Teri..
Don't feel too bad! This has happened to all of us.. well maybe not all of us, but it has happened to me a time or two. I agree that it is very embarassing. I am so glad that Jill and Kyle came to your rescue! Carson's comments cracked me up "Naughty New Car". Lol! What a cute boy!
This is so funny you told me this on the phone but somehow it's funnier reading it. What an idiot you are, I can say that because I am your sister. I love Carsy's comment too, he is so funny. You are definitely lucky Jill and Kyle were so close and Ash was with you.
I told the kids thanks for being so good during the "crises" and Tanner wanted to know what a crises was. Kids are so innocent and curious. Remind me to tell you a sweet story about the crises, Tanner and prayer. He loves you so.
It's kind of funny cause when I heard you ran out of gas that night I turned to Casey and said Who runs out of gas? But I am sorry it happened to you and I am glad all of you made it safely.
Hey Cano family! Teri- I am so glad that you posted on my blog! Your family is so cute! What a small world it is that I ran into you guys at Matt and Calie's wedding. I hope that you do check out my blog from time to time and I will do the same to yours!! Tell Thiago hello for me!
Hey! This is Tiffany Schryver from high school...such a long time! Your family is cute.
Oh that was quite the experience but now I know what will happen I always wondered. But really no big deal everything worked. Next time just try to stop worrying about other things. Thiago should have filled up he used the new car (Carson would say) last.
Teri, Thanks for the comment! I have so many people teel me that DaKoda looks just like me as a baby. My sister says it the most. Brooke looks just like Derek's family and DaKoda is my mini-me. I love it, we both have a daughter that looks like us!
I am so sorry that happened to you! It is good we have people around who will help us out! I wouldn't be surprised if that happened to me sometime! I am always telling Nick that we should be fine and we have enough gas to make it through the canyon!
I think I was 17 when I first ran out of gas, well that was the first and last time. It was very scary, that was before the cell phone phenomenom! Needless to say, I had a phone shortly thereafter. Sad story for you though! Glad you had those friends/family (?) to help!
